Greek minis
Our 28mm Greek miniatures will allow you to quickly get started in your historical wargames thanks to their hand-painted versions. These different versions of the famous Greek warriors are primarily inspired by the equipment of the hoplites of the Persian Wars (between 490 and 479 BC, fighting against the Persian Empire). The Greek hoplites of the Persian Wars were heavy infantry warriors, the mainstays of the Greek armies during the famous clashes against the Persian Empire in the 5th century BC. These elite soldiers, recognizable by their gleaming bronze armor, wore a Corinthian helmet (kranos), a sturdy breastplate (thorax), a round shield called a hoplon or aspis, as well as a long spear (dory) and a short sword (xiphos) for close combat. Their discipline and formation in phalanx (phalanx) made them formidable fighters on the battlefield. The famous hoplite phalanx (a tightly packed and disciplined formation) remained the main force of this period, particularly during the Persian Wars against the Persian Empire and conflicts between Greek city-states (such as the later Peloponnesian War). The Greek army diversified further during the Hellenistic period (following the death of Alexander the Great in 323 BC) by incorporating more light infantry and cavalry. Differences between the Greek city-states can also be noted, such as the powerful Athenian navy and the significant incorporation of allies into its citizen troops. This also included the elite infantry formed by Sparta after years of rigorous military training.
